Denessia Blake-Hepburn

Denessia Blake-Hepburn (she/her) is the Insights Lead at Black Mothers Matter; and holds a Master's in Public Health. Before joining Black Mothers Matter, she worked as a Research Coordinator at the University of Toronto on a project exploring vaccine confidence among ethnoracially minoritised communities. She brings that research background, alongside an anti-racist and equity-focused lens, to her work supporting Black mothers, birthing people and families.
Passionate about community-led research, Denessia believes the voices and lived experiences of Black communities should be at the heart of the services, policies and systems designed to support them.
She is committed to translating research into meaningful action, using evidence to advocate for more equitable, culturally responsive maternity and neonatal care.
