Black Mothers Matter (BMM) are a not for profit organisation that support and celebrate Black pregnancies in Bristol and across the UK. We are committed to correcting racial disparities in the perinatal period for Black and Mixed Black women and birthers. We do this by designing and delivering projects, services and interventions.
Office Manager
We are seeking a highly organised, values-aligned Office Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, financial processes, and administrative systems. This person will ensure our organisation runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with our mission. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, proactive problem solver, and skilled in managing office functions, HR coordination, compliance, and basic financial operations.
We’re seeking someone who brings a strong mix of administrative expertise, operational leadership, and a deep commitment to equity.
You will…
The ideal candidate will:
Be highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Be competent with MS Office (including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and comfortable with cloud-based tools like Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom
Be experienced in office and business management, including financial processes, supplier coordination, and team support
Be skilled in people management and HR administration, including onboarding, payroll coordination, and compliance tracking
Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with confidence in engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
Be able to facilitate smooth operations, streamline systems, and troubleshoot logistical issues with initiative and grace
Be comfortable handling sensitive information, with a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Be able to deliver on targets and within timescales, balancing short-term tasks with long-term goals
Be adaptable and solutions-oriented, with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude in a growing, evolving organisation
Be deeply aligned with the mission of Black Mothers Matter, with a clear understanding of issues impacting Black mothers, birthing people, and families

Salary & Hours
This is a part – time (25 hours per week) role with a salary range of £30,000 - £37,000 FTE per annum.
This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and other safer recruitment checks.
